Lions in semi-final

LAHORE, Jan 15: An All-rounder performance by Imran Farhat steered Lahore Lions (LL) into One-day cup semi-finals after beating Faisalabad Wolves (FW) by 25 runs under must-win situation at Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad on Saturday.

As winners of the match were to qualify for the last four, Imran struck a solid knock of 70 runs (92 balls, five fours, one six) and helped the Lions post 235 in 44.1. Wolves also made an impressive start through Abdul Mannan (47, seven fours) and Khurram Shahzad (45, eight fours) who collected 91 runs in opening stand.

But Imran Farhat excelled with his leg spinners removing both in a space of nine runs. He finished with three for 29 as Wolves were all out for 210 in 43.3 overs with captain Misbahul Haq (46, one four, one six) being the only other major contributor.

Another leg-spinner Imran Tahir snared three wickets for 28 while off-spinner Jahangir Mirza 3-48. Lions will meet pool "B" leaders Hyderabad Hawks in semi-finals at Qadhafi Stadium on Jan 27.
