SARGODHA, Jan 14: Hooligans marred the otherwise mammoth public meeting of the ARD here on Friday evening. It was the first big gathering arranged by PML-N and PPP here jointly but when the people witnessed hooliganism and incidents of scuffle, they left the venue.

PML-N workers chanted pro-Nawaz slogans while PPP workers raised pro-Benazir and Asif Zardari slogans. Alliance leaders including Makhdoom Faheem, Qasim Zia, Naveed Chaudhry, Jehangir Badr, Khalid Khan Kharal, Nawabzada Mansoor Ali Khan, Raja Zafarul Haq, Sardar Zulfikar Ali Khosa and Mian Javed Latif arrived at the venue at 5 pm while the meeting started two hours late.

Addressing the meeting, Faheem said Gen Pervez Musharaf was working upon the US agenda and put at stake at the integrity of country. He said that opposition had realized that present regime could not be removed without revolution and bloodshed. He said that ARD leaders and workers were ready to sacrifice for bringing revolution which was necessary to save the country from 'disastrous collapse'.
