HYDERABAD, Jan 12: Patron of District Cricket Association Hyderabad (DCAH) Hamid M.Nasir on Wednesday threatened to move the court against Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and strongly opposed the board's plans to impose ad hoc bodies on district cricket associations before holding scrutiny and elections of the associations in Sindh.

The DCAH official alleged that the PCB wanted to cover up its misdeeds and mal practices by imposing ad hoc bodies on cricket associations to protect its vested interests.

He said that the PCB policies have badly damaged promotion of national cricket in the country and role of district cricket associations has been completely eliminated at regional level.

In a statement issued on Wednesday Mr Nasir said that it would not be in the interest of cricket associations if they were banned before scrutiny of clubs and elections and called for declaring elections and scrutiny held in other districts of the country as null and void.

He lambasted PCB for introducing such policies which were harming domestic cricket as well and maintained that deserving players of Sindh had been neglected with the inclusion of Ashfaq Shafi from Karachi and Rehan Riaz from Lahore.

The DCAH official charged that after ruining cricket at international level through its unjust and failed policies, PCB now wanted to conceal its misdeeds and mal practices by using office bearers of district associations for its vested interests by imposing ad hoc committees.

Because, he said, it would provide an opportunity to the board to do whatever it wanted to do through its blue-eyed ad hoc officials. Patron of DCAH made it clear that no such illegal and unconstitutional action of board against any cricket association of Sindh province would be accepted.

He urged chief patron of PCB, President General Pervez Musharraf to play his due role in saving the prestige of national cricket so that PCB's controversial officials' alleged arbitrary decisions, based on nepotism, could be checked.
