SIALKOT, Jan 11: The annual elections of the district bar association (DBA) completed here on Tuesday. According to the results, Mehmood Ahmad Bhatti was elected president by defeating ex-chief Munawar Hussain Warraich.

Malik Arif Awan was elected vice-president and Syed Ali Najam Gillani secretary-general.

Ten members of the bar executive committee were also elected. No candidate had filed nomination papers for the posts of finance secretary, auditor and library secretary.

In Pasrur, Amjad Ali Bajwa was elected president of the tehsil bar association, Rana Naseer Ahmad vice-president, Qamar Qaddus secretary-general and Naseer Amin Hashmi joint-secretary.

KASUR: The annual elections of the district bar association were held here on Tuesday. According to election board chairman Mohammad Anwar Hinjra, the newly elected office-bearers are: president Sardar Qurban Ali Dogar, vice-president Chaudhry Iftikhar Ahmad Chohan, secretary-general Malik Mohammad Akram Shahid, joint-secretary Mohammad Yousaf, finance secretary Mohammad Ramzan Ansari and library secretary Munir Hussain Bhatti.

Ahmad Raza Namdar was elected auditor unopposed. The Sardar Ashiq Dogar group swept the polls except the vice-president slot and Sardar Qurban Dogar was elected third time as DBA president.
