LAHORE, Jan 11: The Lahore High Court on Tuesday allowed former test cricketer Abdul Qadir a period up to Feb 7 to strike a compromise with Syed Sabtain Ali on the dispute of payment on a property deal.
Sabtain got a case of forgery and misappropriation registered against the leg spinner with South Cantonment police station, alleging that Qadir had sold him a plot which was already in the legal possession of its rightful owners.
The FIR alleged that Qadir got an advance of Rs200,0000 and got the land registered in his name. The ex-cricketer approached a sessions court for pre-arrest bail, which was declined.
Thereafter, he ran away from the sessions court and applied for pre-arrest bail to the LHC. The court granted the former cricketer bail before arrest till Jan 11 (today). On Tuesday, he appeared for extension in the bail period that was allowed with the condition that he would settle the dispute with the complainant.
