PESHAWAR, Jan 4: Two alleged members of a banned militant group have been arrested and charged with an attack which killed two employees of a charity run by the Aga Khan Foundation, police said on Tuesday.

Masked gunmen stormed the offices of the foundation's health services in Chitra on Dec 26. The men were seized in Chitral two days ago and were members of the outlawed Lashkar-i-Jhangvi extremist organization, District Superintendent of Police Mohammad Saeed Khan told AFP.

Police recovered a photo of Al Qaeda network chief Osama bin Laden and pictures of people training for the anti-Soviet war in Afghanistan during a search of the suspects' home, Mr Khan said.

The Aga Khan Foundation runs different community education, health and other services in Chitral. "Our aim was to drive out the Aga Khan Foundation from Chitral," the police officer quoted the two men - Abdul Rafiq and Juma Khan - as saying during interrogation.

Police were now searching for three other men thought to have taken part in the attack. "All the five have been charged with murder," the police official said.
