KARACHI, Jan 2: The Sindh Home Minister, Rauf Ahmed Siddiqui, said that construction work lying abandoned at 19 arteries of the city was a major cause of traffic jams.

Talking to various delegations at his office, Mr Siddiqui stressed upon cooperation between the city government and the traffic police before any road project was started, so that the latter could arrange for alternative routes in advance to save people from hardships.

He further said that the traffic police had been directed to extend all-out cooperation to the city government. He also asked the city government to complete the work at the under construction roads as early as possible.

The said roads include Khayabana-i-Ghalib to Ziauddin Hospital road, Shirin Jinnah Road, Jehangir Road, Lasbella Road, Lasbella Bridge to Nazimabad Chowrangi No 1, Rashid Minhas Road, Moti Mahal to Gulshan Chowrangi, Maulana Mohammad Ali Jinnah Road, Zahid Hussain Road, Nagan Chowrangi to Godhran, Gulzar Hijri police station to D-7 Crossing, Kashif Shaheed Road, Korangi Road, Korangi Crossing road, Landhi Industrial area 89 turn to Dawood Crossing, National Highway, Pakistan Steel Crossing to Ghaghar Phatak, Shahrah-i-Quaideen to Allah Wala Crossing, Habib Ibrahim Rehmatullah Road, Karsaz to Stadium road, Gulshan-i-Bahar Road, Hub River Road, Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai Road, Manghopir Road and Baloch Colony Road. - PPI
