DHAKA, Dec 30: Zimbabwe skipper Tatenda Taibu believes his team will win next month's Test and the one-day series in Bangladesh on their return to Test cricket.

Zimbabwe were temporarily suspended by the International Cricket Council in July for fielding a weakened team. They will play two Tests and five one-day internationals in Bangladesh.

"I'm sure the boys are here to win. We know that it (Bangladesh) is a changed side but that doesn't change anything," Taibu told a news conference on Thursday after arriving in Bangladesh.

Taibu, 21, oozed confidence despite the loss of 15 leading white players, including former captain Heath Streak, in a dispute with Zimbabwe Cricket which led to their suspension.

Bangladesh have still to win a Test in 34 outings since making their international debut in 2000 but produced a shock win over India in a one-day international last Sunday.

"They are improving, which is really good for world cricket," said wicket keeper Taibu. "Of course they are high on confidence. We know they are going to play good cricket. But we are also high on confidence, so it is going to be a good series."
