PESHAWAR: CPLC sub-committee

Published December 31, 2004

PESHAWAR, Dec 30: The Citizen-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) has constituted a three-member sub-committee to simplify procedure for registration of FIR in cases of kidnappings, aerial firing and car lifting.

This decision was taken at a meeting, a press release issued here on Wednesday said. The participants said there was a need to make the CPLC members aware of powers and functions of the committee.

The CPLC was constituted about six months ago through a government notification. The CPLC members would soon visit Karachi to discuss their problems with the CPLC there.

The committee would also hold a seminar for officials and public representatives to get their feedback on how to deal with the law and order situation. The committee would also elicit opinions of public representatives on how to improve performance of the police.
