SIALKOT, Dec 29: The Uggoki police have yet to register a case of robbery, which took place about three months ago at a house in Jalliyanwala village.

Reports said four unidentified robbers had looted gold ornaments and cash worth Rs80,000 at gunpoint from the house of Mariam Bibi, wife of Muhammad Iqbal.

The woman told the press that she repeatedly submitted applications to police for the registration of a case but to no avail. She has appealed to Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and the IGP to look into the matter.

WARRANTS FOR SHO: Additional District & Sessions Judge Nasir Ahmad Awan on Wednesday issued non-bailable arrest warrants for the Uggoki SHO for not appearing before the court in a petition.

The judge also ordered the Sialkot DPO to forfeit the salary of SHO Aziz Cheema and ensure his production in the court on Jan 6, 2005 after arresting him.

RELIEF CAMPS: Various NGOs and religious organizations on Wednesday set up relief camps at different parts of the city and its outskirts to collect donations for the affectees of earthquake in South East Asia.

A large number of people were witnessed at the camps. An Edhi Foundation spokesman told the press that it had also established a special relief fund in this regard.

BURNT ALIVE: A girl, Asia Bibi, burnt alive when her clothes suddenly caught fire while working in kitchen at Maankey Peer village, Uggoki, on Wednesday.
