MULTAN, Dec 23: A local court granted pre-arrest bails to PPP leaders Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Salahuddin Dogar on Thursday in the cases registered against them and hundreds of their party comrades for violating section 144.

The judge accepted the interim bail pleas of Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Salahuddin Dogar, Rao Sajid, Rauf Lodhi and Saeed Moni against the surety bonds of Rs50,000 each.

Seetal Marri and Jaleelabad police stations had registered cases against PPP leaders and supporters of former Multan mayor Salahuddin Dogar. They were booked on Sunday last when people had turned out on roads to receive Mr Dogar on his first homecoming after being granted bails in the cases filed against him by the NAB and ACE.
