QUETTA, May 27: The Balochistan’s Finance Minister, Jalil Khan Dotani, has ordered sealing of funds allocated in the current budget for extending car and house building advances to the government employees.

He also cancelled all payment orders issued by his department to the hundreds of employees of various departments.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the minister said that he had taken this decision in view of paucity of funds earmarked by the government for car and house building loans.

“Amount allocated for car and house building loans is not enough to meet the requirement of all the government employees,” Jalil Dotani said, adding that he received several applications from the employees for car and house building.

He said it was not possible to release amount before June 30, as many steps were involved in issuing of cheques.

“We would make efforts to earmark more funds for car and house building loans in the next year’s budget so that maximum employees could be benefited from this facility,” he said.

It may be recalled here that several thousand government employees had applied for car and house building advances this year and all application were sent to the provincial finance minister for approval.

The finance department informed the government that it could not pay car and house building loans to all the applicants who’s applications were recommended by the minister as the department had no enough funds for this purpose.
