KARACHI, Dec 14: A four-member committee of the PPP and PML-N was working on a draft of code of conduct for political parties and certain constitutional amendments, said highly-placed sources on Monday.

The body was formed after a telephonic discussion between Ms Benazir Bhutto and Nawaz Sharif on evolving political situation and the need for strengthening a common platform against anti-democracy dispensation.

The committee include Raja Zafarul Haq and Ahsan Iqbal of the PML-N and Mian Raza Rabbani and Senator Safdar Abbasi of the PPP. The committee has recently met in Islamabad and discussed the working draft which would be refined in the next meeting, said the sources.

Once the draft was finalized, it would be sent to the Alliance for the Restoration of Democracy and to other political parties and organizations of civil society, they said.
