DADU, Dec 10: Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim has said no national government is being formed either at the federal or provincial level and criticized Asif Ali Zardari for spreading such rumours.

He was talking to journalists at the residence of the late G. M. Syed in the Sann town after offering condolences with Pakistan Oppressed Nations Movement general-secretary Syed Jalal Mehmood Shah on the death of his father, Syed Imdad Mohammad Shah, on Thursday.

He expressed the hope that federal and provincial governments would complete their tenure. Replying to a question about construction of the Kalabagh dam, he said it was clearly mentioned in the 1991 water accord that dams would be constructed and added that if the dams, including Kalabagh, were not constructed, it would be violation of the accord.

About a statement of President Gen Pervez Musharraf regarding construction of the dam, he said the president was advising all concerned to follow the 1991 water accord in which construction of dams was mentioned for storage of water.

When asked about the kidnapping of two judges in Shikarpur, the chief minister claimed that no politician or feudal lord was involved in the kidnapping. He said the Sindh government had got a clue to the incident and the judges would be recovered soon.

He said the judges would have got security squad had they waited for 15 minutes in Larkana but they had left for Shikarpur without informing the administration.

He said efforts were being made to establish peace in the province and observed that law and order situation in Sukkur, Khairpur, Nawabshah, Dadu, Larkana, Hyderabad, and Thatta had improved and many kidnap victims had been recovered. Talking about formation of new districts, he said new districts would be established and the work had been initiated.
