ISLAMABAD, Dec 9: The Alliance for the Restoration of Democracy on Thursday submitted an adjournment motion to the National Assembly Secretariat to discuss Gen Pervez Musharraf's statement that there were 15 options available for the resolving the Kashmir issue.

The motion stated: "It has been reported in the world media that Gen Musharraf has declared that 15 different options on Kashmir can be discussed and Pakistan is ready to open land routes in Kashmir."

It said: "The options mentioned by Gen Musharraf are not known to the nation till date and the people of Pakistan and Kashmir want to know about these options." The ARD members demanded that parliament should be informed about all the options and said that Gen Musharraf's statement had created "doubts in the minds of general public".

"The solutions and options of the Kashmir problem other than the UN resolutions are the issues of national interest which need debate on the floor of the house after adjourning the business of the National Assembly," says the motion.

The motion was signed by Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan, Raja Pervez Ashraf, Sherry Rahman, Nahid Khan, Syed Khurshid Shah, Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Syed Naveed Qamar and Qamar Zaman Kaira of the PPP and Tehmina Daultana and Khwaja Mohammad Asif of the PML-N.

Mr Amrohvi said opposition had also submitted an adjournment motion to the National Assembly on an official report of the State Department dubbing Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan "traitor".
