SIALKOT, Dec 6: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) will soon release a special grant of Rs3 billion for the development of Pasrur tehsil's barani areas. This was stated by state Minister for Defence Zahid Hamid at various public gatherings in Pasrur tehsil on Monday.

He claimed that the government had chalked out a comprehensive programme for the development of Pasrur tehsil. The federal, provincial and district governments would spend Rs5 billion for the purpose in three years, he added.

Mr Hamid said the government had released Rs550 million for the early construction of country's second cadet college at Pasrur, Rs90 million for the construction of protective dyke on nullah Dek to save more than 150 villages of Pasrur from flood and Rs110 million for constructing Sialkot-Pasrur road to provide better communication facilities to the people.

DISPLAY CENTRE: The Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) has demanded allocations from the federal government for the export development fund (EDF) for the construction of an international standard display centre here.

An SCCI official said here on Monday that the display centre would be established on three kanals area adjacent to SCCI. It would be developed with the aim of providing opportunity to foreign ambassadors and customers to see the products of different organizations at one place instead of visiting the factories separately.

APPOINTMENTS: The appointment letters will be given to recently appointed 550 educators by the education department during a special ceremony to be held at Anwaar Club auditorium here on Dec 7. Punjab Minister for Labour and Human Resources Syed Akhtar Husain Rizvi will be the chief guest on the occasion.

POSTS APPROVED: The Punjab government has approved 47 posts of different scales for posting in revenue department in the recently created Sambrial tehsil. This was stated by Punjab Public Accounts Committee chairman Azim Noori Ghuman while talking to newsmen at Sambrial on Sunday night.
