NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, Dec 6: A 13-year-old girl and her father have saught protection from the authorities. The girl, Arbi, and her father, Bahadur, belonging to Darya Khan Mari, stated in their applications to the authorities on Monday that one Ramzan and his father, Kamal Lashari, had entered their house and demanded that the girl should be allowed to go with them because her marriage had been solemnized with a boy, Jurial, 9, son of Ramzan, by Nikah Khwan Maulvi Abdul Wahab.

The girl said Ramzan and his relatives had threatened that they would kidnap her if she was not handed over to them. Mr Bahadur termed the Nikah fictitious and said when he contacted the Nikah Khwan, he said he had been told by Ramzan that the boy and the girl were adults. He said he was not given a copy of the Nikahnama.
