PML now a party of masses, says Nisar

KARACHI, Dec 5: Additional General Secretary of the PML Nisar A. Memon has said that the era of drawing room politics and slogans has ended and the PML today has become a party of masses and heart throb of people.

He was speaking at a public meeting held at the PML House after his arrival here on three-day visit to the city and the interior Sindh. "Our focus is on the local bodies elections which are due to be held next year,' Mr Memon said, and declared that PML would achieve glorious success.

He said that the PML would take part in flag hoisting ceremonies all over the country this year. "PML believes in democracy and has brought an end to the politics of confrontation,'' he said.

He said that the party would hold a massive rally at Nishtar Park this month but a date would be announced by the provincial leadership. He asserted that judiciary was absolutely independent and this was reflected in the release of Asif Zardari.

Addressing the meeting, PML Sindh General Secretary Imtiaz Shaikh said that they party would register a historic victory in the forthcoming local bodies elections. The meeting also adopted a resolution calling for resolution of problems being faced by common man. Imtiaz Shaikh said, "we fully endorse this resolution.''

Those present on the occasion included Iqbal Dar, Fakir Hussain Bukhari, Bostan Ali Hoti, Amanullah Paracha, Arif Hasan, Aleem Adil Shaikh and Imran Khanzada. Earlier, Nisar Memon was accorded a warm welcome on his arrival here from Islamabad along with Iqbal Dar.

A large number of local leaders, party activists and supporters received him at the airport. He drove to the PML House in a big procession which took two hours to reach its destination.

After the rally, Mr Memon and other PML leaders left for Hyderabad on a mass contact campaign. They would also visit Sehwan, Sukkur and Larkana before returning Karachi on Monday evening. - APP
