SAHIWAL, Nov 28: Two family members were killed while three others sustained serious injuries when a car they were travelling in overturned near Noorshah on Sahiwal-Faisalabad Road on Sunday.

Muhammad Arshad of Samundri along with his family was on way home to Chak 204-GB (Faisalabad) by his car (FDK-401). Near Akbar village, the speeding car overturned while saving a donkey cart. Arshad and his daughter Sameena died instantly while his wife Shabana, and children Karam and Iram sustained critical injuries. They were rushed to a hospital.

RECOVERED: Noorshah police on Saturday evening recovered a decomposed body of a kidnapped woman from a pit after a period of over three months. The deceased woman of Chak 71/4-R was the wife of Education department naib qasid.

She was kidnapped on Aug 10. Noorshah police had registered a case against the accused under Hudood ordinance and arrested Khan Muhammad, Abdullah and Ramzan. All the three accused had already managed their bail from the high court. However, the police after the recovery of the body registered a murder case against the accused.

TAKES NOTE: Punjab Governor Khalid Maqbool has taken a serious note of the gambling and obscene shows being staged in the awami mela/exhibition in Sahiwal. The religious circles had informed the governor about the obscenity and gambling.

Tehsil Nazim Rana Aamir Shahzad when contacted said the permission was granted by the district government. The governor has ordered the closure of all such exhibitions in the name of entertainment.
