KHAR, Nov 26: The NWFP Governor's Secretariat (Fata) has issued notification about the nominated Agency Councils for the seven tribal agencies, an official said.

In Bajuar Agency, 64 councillors will take oath on Dec 1 and the political administration has already issued a notification in this regard. The oath-taking ceremony will take place in Khar, agency's headquarters.

The agency's assistant director of local government and rural development Israrullah Khan told newsmen here on Friday that the nominated councillors would take oath on Dec 1.

He said that the political agent, who is also chairman of the council, would administer oath to the councillors. The nomination process was completed in the agency last month. The 64 councillors have been bifurcated into different categories i.e., 46 general seats, 12 tribal elders, three technocrats and three ulema.

Under the criteria 46 councillors were nominated by the respective tribes, while 30 per cent members were nominated by the political agent with the consultation of Fata Secretariat.

These councillors will assist the political administration in maintaining law and order, supervision of development projects and allocation of funds for various schemes within the agency.
