LAHORE, Nov 25: The ground staff of Rawalpindi Stadium was held responsible for not preparing the pitch for the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy match between Lahore Blues and Rawalpindi which a caused one-day delay.

The match was scheduled to start from Nov 22. According to the recommendations made by the PCB inquiry committee and also accepted by chairman of the board "the ground staff comprising Naushad Hussain, incharge Pindi Stadium and Ashraf, Head Groundsman, were found grossly negligent in their assigned duties by over-watering the pitch area.

It is recommended that they may be severely reprimanded and appropriate action be taken against them by the District administration". The two-member inquiry committee of Abbas Zaidi and Naushad Ali also recommended that the next Quaid-i-Azam Trophy fixture which was earlier scheduled at the same venue from Nov 27 be shifted to Jinnah Stadium, Sialkot.
