KARACHI, Nov 24: Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim on Wednesday presided over a meeting at the chief minister house to review law and order and matters relating to the National Security Council meeting in Islamabad.
It was decided that in future, those identifying the subversive and terrorist elements involved in damaging railway tracks would also be awarded prizes. Prizes would also be given to the people who would help the government in the arrest of criminals and those patronizing the outlaws.
The meeting also decided that the prizes would be given to those recommended by regional police officers. It discussed the measures for checking the printing and publication of the literature that might hurt sentiments.
The meeting also discussed steps against the speeches, made at mosques before and after Friday sermons, causing hatred among any school of thought. The matters deliberated upon matters relating to the utilization of police welfare fund. The chief minister issued directive that housing and other schemes for police personnel be initiated with these funds.
Adviser on Information Salahuddin Haider, chief secretary Mohammad Aslam Sanjrani, Information Secretary Mehtab Akbar Rashdi, Karachi CCPO Tariq Jamil and Hyderabad RPO Mohammad Bachal Sangri were among those who attended the meeting. -PPI
