SHIKARPUR, Nov 24: Two police officials and four persons allegedly involved in a case of kidnapping and motorcycle hijacking were injured in an encounter some 10 kilometres off here on Wednesday evening.

A police team conducted a raid on Kabalo village to arrest outlaws who had hijacked a motorbike and held hostage its owner Zulfiqar Rajar. Three robbers Sharbat Brohi, Malang Brohi and Suleman Brohi opened fire at police while police also fired in reply.

As a result, SHO Ahmed Nawaz Rind and head constable Hajan Shah sustained bullet injuries. Police claimed that four of the outlaws and their supporters were also injured who were taken away by their accomplices. However, police succeeded to free hostage Zulfiqar Rajar.

HIJACKED: Three bandits hijacked motorcycle of a press photographer in Faiz Ali Shah Street here on Wednesday morning. Press photographer, Imran Ali Soomro, was deprived of cash of Rs4,000, NIC, press card, and new motorcycle when he was on his way to Stuart Ganj for making payment of telephone bill.
