HYDERABAD, Nov 24: A bench of the Sindh High Court, Hyderabad, on Wednesday issued notices to Hesco chief executive Adeebul Hassan, Gari Khata executive engineer Ahsan Ali Dogar and Saddar sub-division SDO Aqeel Zafar Sulheri on a contempt of court application filed by Syed Ishaq Hussain.

Mr Hussain said the court, on his petition, had directed the Hesco authorities on April 15 to consider his application for provision of a separate electricity connection within two weeks of the date of the order. He said the connection had yet not been provided to him. The matter was fixed for Nov 25.

CONTEMPT PLEA: A contempt of court application was filed in the Sindh High Court, Hyderabad circuit bench, on Wednesday against the Sindh secretary for works and services for allegedly violating an Oct 8 court order in a land acquisition matter.

The petitioner, Mohsin Hussain, said the court had ordered the highways department to make him payment for his acquired land, failing which the secretary should submit a report in the court. However, he maintained, he had neither been paid the money nor any report had been submitted in the court.

SEIZED: A team of excise and police officials recovered 525 litres of country-made liquor and material used in its preparation in a raid in Sim Naka Abadgar Bhatti village near Tando Mohammad Khan. They arrested two men, Ramji and Dadyo.
