RIYADH, Nov 23: A suspected Saudi militant captured in Jeddah two weeks ago has confessed to killing a French engineer in the Red Sea port city in September, a Saudi newspaper said on Tuesday.

Okaz newspaper quoted security sources as saying Hamad al-Saadi admitted shooting Laurent Barbot as he drove home in the early hours of Sept 26.

Interior Ministry security spokesman Brigadier-General Mansour Turki said investigations were not complete and the report was "inaccurate", without elaborating. -Reuters
