ARRESTED: The investigation police of Shah Faisal Town have arrested a suspect in the murder case of a former air-hostess whose decomposed body was found from her rented house on the night of Nov 1.

Town investigation officer DSP Javed Aslam said Dawn that the police on late Sunday night arrested Saleem from Shah Faisal Colony. Saleeem confessed to have killed Yasmeen Malick. Giving details of the case, the DSP said the relationship of the air-hostess and Saleem dates back to some 20 years when Saleem was an employee of the Airport Hotel. He proposed her, but Yasmeen Malick refused to marry him. Instead, she married Malick Bashir from whom she had two children.

Later, Malick Bashir divorced Yasmeen and proceeded to England. In 1997, Saleem kidnapped Yasmeen's son from Saddar and threw his body in sea after killing the boy.

He was later arrested and awarded a 25-year prison term. However, after completing a seven-year term, he met Yasmeen who in the meantime was sacked from her job. Though Yasmeen had rented a house in Shah Faisal Colony, she used to sleep with her daughter Hina, 14, at her friend's house, also an air-hostess, in Golden Town.

The police said that prior to the incident Yasmeen had gone out with Saleem. Saleem told the police that he had killed her with a brick.
