KARACHI, Nov 17: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad ordered on Wednesday to keep vigilance and take strict legal action against drug dealers, gamblers, obscene film players and those who harbour criminals in the province.

The governor has also taken serious note of the human loss in Hyderabad due to use of poisonous liquor and ordered a detailed inquiry to fix the responsibility.

He asked the authorities concerned that instead of launching periodical campaigns they should be vigilant against the crimes throughout the year to make the society free of all evils.

Ishratul Ibad also directed police and the officials of excise department to prepare a comprehensive and effective strategy to wipe out these liquor shops at the earliest. In case any government officials is found involved in patronizing any illegal and immoral activity, he should be given an exemplary punishment, he ordered.

The governor expressed hope that society especially the families and friends would play their role in stopping the people from indulging in such un-welcome acts. People should also cooperate with the government agencies in containing the immoral activities and crimes in every nook and corner. Only through joint efforts, a civilized and progressive society could emerge, he remarked. -APP
