KARACHI: Robbers kill young man

KARACHI, Nov 5: A young man died and his brother was wounded in a robbery attempt at Pakistan Chowk on Friday evening. Police said that armed suspects barged into a shop of computer graphics and demanded cash and valuables.

As the inmates resisted, the suspects opened fired on them and fled away wounding both. They were rushed to the Civil Hospital where Asif, 26, died during treatment, while Saqib, 24, was undergoing treatment.

Police said that both brothers were residents of C-1 Area, Liaquatabad. Meanwhile, around five to seven armed suspects entered the house of M. Anwer Aziz at 2A-4/32, Nazimabad No 2 and robbed him and his family of cash and jewellery worth Rs1.5 million. The robbers held the family members hostage for a full two hours, between 7:45am and 9:45am. An FIR 284/2004 was lodged at the Nazimabad police station.
