More tax reforms stressed

HYDERABAD, Nov 5: Outgoing Income Tax Commissioner (Hyderabad region) Sardar Aminullah Khan has said that due to the pragmatic and constructive approach of the federal government the confidence of the taxpayers

has been restored in tax collectors and added that this is the main reason that tax collection during the current year has surpassed the target.

He was speaking at a farewell party held for him by the Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HCCI) here on Thursday. He thanked the business community for cooperating with him in the introduction of tax reforms.

Mr Khan said there was a lot of margin in introducing more tax reforms for which confidence-building measures between the taxpayers and tax collectors were very necessary.

Noor Muhammad Mandokhel, newly-appointed Commission Income Tax, expressed the hope that he would receive same cooperation from the taxpayers which was willingly extended to his predecessor.

He assured the business community that he would try to resolve all the problems of the taxpayers with the cooperation of the chamber. HCCI President Mehmood Ahmed thanked the outgoing IT commissioner for his cooperation with the chamber and the taxpayers.
