LAHORE, Oct 22: The Punjab Industrial Estate Development and Management Company has decided to allot Sundar Industrial Estate plots to all 251 applicants.

A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the PIEDMC board of directors held here on Friday with Mohsin Syed in the chair. He said the applicants had submitted Rs10 billion investment plans.

He said the applications had been received for the establishment of 58 textile, 35 pharmaceutical, 11 auto parts, nine food processing, 16 warehouse, 11 manufacturing, 12 unspecified and 15 miscellaneous units at the estate.

He said 81 applications had been received for the allotment of half acre, 124 for one acre, 24 for two acre, 11 for three acre and an equal number for five acre plots by Sept 30. Those who applied afterwards would be allotted plots through a ballot.

The BoD hailed the chief minister's decision to set up one of the three proposed combined effluent treatment plants at Sundar and allocation of Rs50 million for setting up a pharmaceutical laboratory there. Other two plants are to be set up at the Kot Lakhpat Industrial Estate and the Multan Industrial Estate.
