KARACHI, Oct 11: The centralized admission committee for colleges on Monday released the placement list of 15,429 girl students for admission in first year humanities.

The lists issued in the case of 44 colleges and 18 higher secondary schools comprised names of 127 A-1 graders; 906 A- graders; 2,608 B-graders; 5,646 C-graders; 5,627 D-graders and 515 E-graders.

With the latest release of placement list, which is the last of its kind, the number of students selected for admission to colleges and higher secondary schools in the city reached to 80,436 including 39,694 male and 40,742 female students, said EDO Higher Education Prof Rais Alvi while talking to newsmen at PECHS Girls College on Monday.

Prof Alvi said that about 96,000 prospectus and forms were sold through banks, out of which 84,000 forms were received back duly filled by students. He said that about 300 tampered mark sheets were submitted by the admission seekers, which were finally detected at the Board of Secondary Education, which has been entrusted with the job of verifications and compilation of computerized admission lists.

He informed that till date 6,893 claim forms were received from students for re-adjustment of their placement at different institutions. "We have settled about 4,398 claims while the remaining 2,495 will be sorted out soon," he added.

He said that the last date for acceptance of claim forms was Oct 16. He advised the students, who were not satisfied with their placement for arts faculty admission, to submit the claim forms at the centres which would work from 2pm to 4pm during Ramazan.
