LARKANA, Oct 10: About 77 cases of corruption in different departments were reviewed in a meeting of the anti-corruption committee-II held here on Friday. DCO Razzaque Qureshi presided over the meeting.

Of the 32 cases of the revenue department, the committee approved 14 for the registration of FIR, nine for inquiry and seven for litigation. Out of the 16 cases of the police department, the committee recommended seven for the registration of FIR and nine for an open inquiry.

The committee approved a case for the registration FIR and another for an open inquiry in the health department. Out of 10 cases of the education department, the committee approved one for the registration of FIR and eight for an open inquiry.

Three cases of the local government department were also reviewed where the committee approved one case for the registration of FIR and two for an open inquiry. Nine cases of the Usher and Zakat department were reviewed and the committee recommended nine for an open inquiry.

Four cases of the irrigation department were also discussed in the meeting and the committee approved one case for the registration of FIR and three cases for an open inquiry.

The meeting was attended among others by the deputy director of the anti-corruption establishment, Mr Zulfikar Junejo, EDO revenue Imdad Ali Avisi, the medical superintendent of the CMC hospital, Dr Shahbaig Chandio, EDO education Azam Memon, DO colleges Aijaz Shah and DSO Bashir Soomro.
