KARACHI, Oct 10: A teenager died in aerial firing at a marriage ceremony in Quaidabad late Saturday night. Police said that Babar, 18, had come to attend the wedding ceremony of his cousin Mohammad Shabir in New Muzaffarabad Colony, Quaidabad.

His cousins were firing in the air to celebrate the marriage when he suffered a bullet wound in his head. Babar was immediately taken to a nearby private hospital from where he was referred to JPMC. However, doctors pronounced him dead on arrival at the JPMC.

RECOVERED: The body of an unidentified man was washed ashore at the Clifton Beach on Sunday morning. Police said that the victim was in his mid 30's. His body was shifted to the JPMC for legal formalities. Following the examination, the body was handed over to the Edhi Foundation for identification purposes.

SHOOTOUT: A bandit was wounded in an encounter with police in Korangi late on Saturday night. Police said that three suspects entered a house in Korangi 1- 1/2 to commit a dacoity. Someone from the house called help line 15 and informed the police.

A police party reached the spot in time ensuing an exchange of fire during which a suspect who was later identified as Suleman was wounded. Police arrested Suleman and recovered a TT pistol from his possession while his two accomplices escaped. With the information extracted from the wounded suspect, police are making raids for the arrest of absconding suspects.

FIRE: Three shops were gutted in fire that broke out in Sana Terrace, Garden area on Sunday evening. According to area police, the fire that erupted in a shop containing foams spread to the neighbouring shops. They said that the fire brigade controlled the fire in an hours time. The cause of the fire could not be ascertained.
