Clarification

Published October 28, 2001

KARACHI, Oct 27: A news item in Dawn’s Saturday edition, emanating from SADA news agency, quoting director PCB, tends to give the impression that PCB thinks that the tour guarantees/appearance fees, have not been standardized. This is a wrong impression, says press releases of the PCB.

“ICC tour guarantee payments are in place since June 2001. These have not been revised again. The title of the same report “PCB denies WI claims on Test fee” also tends to give the impression of a Pakistan versus West Indies positioning on the subject.

“PCB clarifies that there is no such thing. The West Indies have their concerns with respect to the tour guarantees that they have made known on a number of occasions. This is a matter between the ICC and West Indies.”
