SUKKUR: Three killed in accidents

SUKKUR, Oct 1: Three people were killed and eleven others injured in separate road accidents near Sukkur on Friday.

Hayat Malik, a resident of Pir-Jo-Goth, was killed and ten others were injured in a head-on collision between a trawler and a van on the National Highway near Sangi village, Pano Akil taluka.

The injured - Naziran, Sahib Khatoon and Iqbal - were shifted to the Taluka Hospital Pano Akil. Abdullah, an employee of the Rohri Cement Factory, was killed and Barkat Ali Abbasi was injured when a motorcycle collided head-on with a van in Rohri town. Ghulam Mustafa alias Pupoo, a resident of the city, was killed when a tractor hit him near the Sukkur Barrage.

PROTEST: A demonstration was held here after the Friday prayers outside the Jamia Mosque situated on the Bunder Road against the failure of police for not arresting the killers of Haji Waris, the father of Allama Ali Sher Haideri.

Speaking on the occasion, the leaders of the Ahle-Sunnat Wal-Jamaat Maulana Razzak Haideri, Qari Attaullah Rahmani and Maulana Zahid Baloch alleged that the police were not sincere in arresting the culprits.
