SRINAGAR, Sept 30: Three civilians were killed and another five injured when a bomb hidden in a scooter exploded on a key highway on Thursday, a paramilitary official said.

India's Border Security Force spokesman Neeraj Sharma blamed freedom fighters for the attack which missed a passing army convoy near Kansipora village, 50km of Srinagar.

An attacker shot dead a person, Rafiq Shaheen, in Srinagar, the spokesman said. Shah had laid down his weapons two years ago and joined the All Parties Hurriyat Conference. -APP
