ISLAMABAD Sept 30: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Thursday directed the ministry of law and justice to propose suitable legislation to reform the judicial system.

The prime minister was talking to Federal Minister for Law, Justice and Human Rights Wasi Zafar, Minister of State for Law Akram Bhinder and Attorney-General Makhdoom Ali Khan, who had called on him at the Prime Minister's House.

The law minister sought the prime minister's guidance in bringing about a legislation relating to various areas of judicial system. The law ministry team discussed with the Prime Minister the problems of delay in administration of justice and forwarded proposals for reforms.

The prime minister said that the legal system needed to be reformed for providing the people easy access to justice and early decisions of the cases, adding that there was an ever-increasing pendency in courts which caused an inordinate delay in decisions.

He directed the ministry of law and justice to put up proposal to take appropriate measure for quick dispensation of justice. Meanwhile, the prime minister continued to meet members of parliament belonging to the ruling coalition parties and discussed with them matters pertaining to the economic development.

His visitors included, MNAs Sardar Farooq Ahmed Khan Leghari, Rai Masab Ali Khan, and Rahman Naseer, Muhammad Latif, chairman of the Public Safety Commission and Chaudhry Mohammad Ishfaq, district nazim of Toba Tek Singh.

He said, that his government was committed to generate economic activity to raise the living standard of the people. He asked them to start job-generating development schemes in their respective areas.

The prime minister was informed that a delegation of Kuwaiti investors would soon be visiting Pakistan to explore investment opportunities here. MNA Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry, who is also a member of the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce, discussed various issues relating to foreign investment opportunities.

Deputy chairman of Senate Khalilur Rahman also called on the premier and discussed with him matters pertaining to Senate. Khalilur Rahman appreciated prime minister's decision of lifting economic sanctions from the South Waziristan Agency and said that the decision had been well received by the tribesmen.
