HYDERABAD, Sept 29: A girl committed suicide under mysterious circumstances in the A-section police station area on Wednesday.
SHO Ayub Durrani said she had committed suicide with a weapon belonging to her brother in a staff quarter in the Sindh regimental centre. Her father is a gardener in the SRC. The girl's brother Waqar has been detained by police. It is believed that he suspected her sister to be involved with a man.
ROBBERY: Two armed men looted mobile phones, cards and cash worth rupees one million from a shops in the Gul Centre within the jurisdiction of Cantonment police station.
They entered the shop of Ahmed and held six employees hostage at gunpoint. They filled two bags with cell phone sets having cameras and other advanced functions, Rs70,000 cash and phone cards. The SHO cantonment police station Amir Jafri said no FIR was lodged so far as the value of looted goods was being estimated.
MISSING: The whereabouts of a four-year-old boy remain unknown despite a lapse of two days in the jurisdiction of Gulshan-i-Hali police. Abdul Manan, son of Shujaat, had gone missing from the house of his maternal grandfather, Mehfooz Ali, an official of Sanghar sugar mills on Monday.
His father is associated with bangle business. The police said the family had received anonymous calls, informing them the boy was safe. However, no demand for ransom was made.
