Two US troops killed in Iraq

BAGHDAD, Sept 27: A US soldier was killed in an attack near the town of Balad, north of Baghdad, on Monday while another died in a traffic accident in the same area, the US military said.

A statement explained that a US vehicle overturned trying to avoid a truck on the road and that one of the two soldiers wounded in the accident later died of his injuries.

The other soldier was killed when a patrol returning from the site of the crash was attacked by insurgents, the statement said. -AFP
