PESHAWAR, Sept 27: Parents were asked at a function held at the University Model School on Monday to concentrate on the studies of their children.

"We try our best to teach, but the responsibility for their progress rests not only on teachers but also on their parents, who are required to give time to their children," said Arjumand Nazir, Principal of the University Model School, University of Peshawar, while speaking at the function.

"The world has made tremendous progress in all spheres of knowledge, and we can compete with developed countries only through provision of timely guidelines to our children," she told the participants.

Mrs Nazir said that parents' role in the growth of children was of paramount importance "We are proud that the students of the UMS had grabbed 11 of the top 20 positions in the recently-declared results of the matriculation examination," Mrs Nazir said.
