MUMBAI, Sept 26: Australia's star leg-spinner Shane Warne said Sunday he was hoping to help his team score a long-awaited Test series triumph in India.

"We have a good chance of beating India this time," said Warne, who is just five scalps short of Sri Lankan off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan's Test record of 532 wickets.

"I have been whacked around in the past in Tests here since Indians are very good players of spin but I have a few plans for them," he said ahead of the four-match series starting on Oct 6.

"I had a shoulder injury in 1998 and was recovering from a finger operation in 2001 but am in peak fitness now and since this is likely to be my last Test tour of India, I really want to do well," said Warne.

Warne, who has bagged just 20 wickets in six Tests in India, said their team was balanced even though injured captain Ricky Ponting would be missed.

"We will miss Ricky but since we have a very balanced side, we don't need to worry all that much," said Warne. Ponting has a broken thumb, but he is unlikely to play in the first Test at Bangalore. -AFP
