LAHORE, Sept 21: The Punjab government will soon convene an inter-provincial tourism conference to formulate a strategy for the promotion of inter-provincial harmony through tourism.

Stating this at a meeting held here on Tuesday, Tourism Minister Aslam Iqbal said all provincial tourism ministers and secretaries would be invited to attend the conference.

He said the conference would approve a number of packages for attracting the local and foreign tourists to different parts of the country for witnessing the traditional sports and cultural events besides visiting the places of historical importance.

He said it would also consider establishment of a help line for booking of tours for all parts of the country from any part of the world by phone. He said the provincial government had already started courses teaching different languages and training the tourist guides and operators.
