QUETTA, Sept 17: Activists of the All-Pakistan Shia Action Committee and Jafaria Alliance, Balochistan, staged an anti-government demonstration after Juma prayers in front of the Jamia Mosque Imambargah, Prince Road.

They alleged that the government was not sincere in apprehending the terrorists who had killed dozens of innocent people. The protestors held placards and banners inscribed with slogans against the government and religious extremist groups.

They chanted slogans against the Jam government and local administration. The demonstrators announced that they would observe a token hunger strike from Saturday, to be led by JAB chief Allama Maqsood Ali Domki.

A camp would be established in front of Imambargah Nachari for the purpose. Syed Zahir Shah and Allama Domki addressed the protesters and accused the government of not doing enough to eliminate the network of terrorists that had targeted leaders and members of the Shia community. They recalled that the chief minister had promised on Sept 10 that killers of Professor Atiqul Hasan and Syed Buhral Shah would be nabbed within three days.
