KHAIRPUR, Sept 15: District Nazim Nafisa Shah held a meeting with cotton farmers and ginners at the DCO complex here on Wednesday to discuss cotton price, ginning charges and other issues concerning them.

During the meeting, the farmers complained that the Zarai Taraqqiati Bank staff had been illegally deducting 10 per cent of loan amount in Khairpur district. The nazim constituted a committee to inquire into the matter.

The mill owners demanded issuance of arms license for security purpose and the nazim assured them that the licenses would soon be issued. DCO of Khairpur Rizwan Memon, local agriculture officer and the union council nazims were also present in the meeting.

FIR: A man injured in an accident, Hasnat Khan Awan, lodged an FIR with the Faiz Ganj police against wagon driver Maqsood Ahmed Rajput on Wednesday. He stated in the FIR that as he and Mumtaz Ali Shar had been going to Pacca Chang on a motorcycle on Tuesday night, the speedy wagon (PE-1761) had hit their motorcycle as a result Mr Shar had been killed on the spot.
