RAWALPINDI, Sept 15: Minister of State for Culture Mohammad Ali Durrani on Wednesday emphasized the significance of art and artistic pursuits in country's cultural life saying that art is the embodiment and identification of an individual's culture spanning over hundred years in history.

The minister was inaugurating an exhibition of works of an artist from Gojra, Faisalabad District, Abdul Latif Sahu, at Rawalpindi Arts Council on Wednesday. The artist has put on display about 60 art pieces employing trivial items to turn these objects into works of art and calligraphy.

Mr Durrani said ultimately nations were known and recognized by the artistic works they leave behind for the posterity. He said the government was determined to promote the country's culture and traditions of art.

The government is doing all it could do to enhance and refine the cultural values inherited by Pakistan, he added. The minister vowed to leave no stone unturned for promotion of arts and artistic works in the country.
