KARACHI, Sept 15: Sindh Home Minister Rauf Siddiqui has said that a high-level inquiry committee would be formed to probe into the issue of frauds concerning allotments of shops at new Sabzi Mandi (vegetable market) and legal allotees would be accorded with their rights at all costs.

Following the directives of Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad, the minister held an open kutchery in Gadap Town on Wednesday.

Area people and notables informed the minister that they had legal allotments, but, they were not handed over the shops. They alleged that the officers concerned were demanding Rs2,000 to Rs3,000 for issuing fake documents and handing over the shops.

Rauf Siddiqui after receiving the complaints announced that a high-level committee would be formed to probe into the matter so that the legal allotees could be given their shops.

Referring to the development projects, he said that people of slum areas had equal rights of having civic facilities. He said that a good quality two-way road would be constructed in the area for which work would be initiated in coming month.

He further said that managing-directors of Sui Gas and KESC would be approached for supply of gas and electricity in the area. Efforts would also be undertaken to reduce stamp duty of the land, he added. The minister also disclosed that a Safari Park covering an area of 50sq-km would be established in Sukkur after exterminating dacoits from Shah Balu Jungle. -PPI
