KARACHI, Sept 15: The city government has finalized the lease rates for kutchi abadis and devised a procedure for granting lease to plots in these areas.

The kutchi abadies have been categorized in residential, residential-cum-commercial, industrial, commercial and religious plots having varying rates.

In residential category, Rs25 per square yards has been fixed for 120sq-yard plots; Rs100 for the plots having area between 121 and 150 square yards; Rs120 for 151sq-yard to 240sq-yard plots and Rs200 for plots having area of 241 square yards or above.

In residential-cum-commercial category, Rs60 has been fixed for plots upto 80 square yards; Rs100 for plots having area between 81 and 120 square yards; Rs150 for 120sq-yard to 240sq- yard plots and Rs250 for plots having an area of 241 square yards or above.

In industrial and commercial categories, the city government has fixed Rs300 for lease of all sizes of plots. Besides, Rs300 would be charged for leasing the plots specified for schools, madressahs and hospitals. In religious category, a very nominal amount of one rupee would be charged for all sizes of plots allocated for mosque, mandar, church and gurdwara. -PPI
