SHIKARPUR, Sept 9: Leaders of the Save Sindh Struggle Committee have urged members of the Sindh Assembly to recall a resolution calling for issuing computerized national identity cards to immigrants.

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, they termed the resolution a conspiracy against Sindhi people to turn them in a minority in their own motherland. Aqeel Abbas Soomro of the Awami Tehrik, Parvez Abro (JSM), Majid Hyderi (Jeay Sindh Students Federation), Irshad Jalbani (Sindh Taraqqi Passand Party), Azad Jokhio (Jamaat-i-Islami), Faheem Soomro (PPP) and Saeed Soomro (SPSF-SB) were present on the occasion.

They said selfish political leaders and feudal lords wanted to harm interests of Sindh. They appealed to members to recall the resolution in the larger interest of Sindh and withdraw the policy of issuing CNICs to immigrants.

PROTEST: Family members of Ali Hassan Dhoki, who was killed by his neighbourers in Garhi Yasin town, staged a demonstration outside office of the district nazim and the DPO on Wednesday. They appealed to them for arrest of accused involved in the murder.
