KARACHI, Sept 3: The MPAs of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement have appealed to President Pervez Musharraf, Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, Sindh Governor Ishratul Ibad and Chief Minister Arbab Ghulam Rahim to conduct an impartial investigation into the Liaquatabad flyover issue.

The assembly members expressed their concern over the view of experts and demanded that a high-level inquiry should be undertaken, concerning billions of rupees of misappropriation in the construction of flyovers.

In a statement, they said that the two feet broad crack in the Liaquatabad flyover had unearthed the use of sub-standard material. They also mentioned that earlier one track of the Rashid Minhas Road to Sharea Faisal flyover had also caved in. - PPI
