LAHORE, Sept 2: The National Accountability Bureau said on Thursday that there was no legal hurdle to transfer of cases from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to the bureau.
Reacting to a news report, "FIA officials refuse to join NAB", the NAB said: "The NAO-99 Schedule was amended through a Law Division Gazette Notification on Nov 20, 2003, well in advance whereby, relevant sections of PPC dealing with Anti-corruption and Economic Crimes were incorporated in the NAO for enabling the NAB to take over all ongoing inquiries, investigation and prosecution cases."
About career prospects, the NAB said: "It offers monetary incentives to the professionals. Terms and conditions of Service (TCS) have been framed on the modern management principles/concepts.
This is being further improved to provide even better prospects. The future of this organization is not only well protected by virtue of its performance but also its operations are being enhanced through structured reforms that include addition of prevention as well as awareness wings in the organizations.
"It will be pertinent to mention that significant numbers of investigation officers ex-FIA have already been working with the NAB for four years and performing well. As such their permanent absorption in the NAB will not be a sudden change of portfolios."
